Winter Carnival 2008

The Husky Amateur Radio Club will be hosting a special event station ( W8C ) during winter carnival 2008. Winter Carnival is a great time for the Michigan Tech Community and for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. During Winter Carnival, Michigan Tech students and the Community take a four-day break from the harsh winter. Students prepare months in advance for Stage Revue, spend a month building expansive statues across campus, and compete to become Queen of Winter Carnival. | MTU Blue Key Honor Society, who organizes and runs Winter Carnival, has a video history of Winter Carnival.
During Winter Carnival student organizations, resident hall groups, fraternities woman groups, and even the community compete in various events. Along with the Stage Revue, and the month-long statues, these groups also compete in Special events, and other competitions to gain points. The group out of each category with the most points wins.
